Emmela is proud to be the first to bring you NDONN baskets — handcrafted in Senegal by just a handful of skilled weavers. Produced in small batches across two villages, these baskets are truly unique, making them a rare addition to your home.

Keeping Tradition Alive

The NDONN basket represents more than storage — it carries a cultural legacy. This weaving skill, once nearly lost, is being revived by the grandmothers of the villages, who are now passing their knowledge on to younger women. By choosing an NDONN basket, you help keep this tradition alive while providing income and dignity to women who might not otherwise earn a wage.
