The Tradition of NDONN weaving

Ndonn baskets are made using a traditional weaving technique that combines reeds from Guinea Conakry with palm leaf fibres from Senegal. Once at risk of being forgotten, this long-lost skill has been lovingly revived, but only in a handful of villages so far. 

Passing Skills Between Generations

Thanks to this revival, grandmothers are once again able to pass on their knowledge and weaving techniques to younger women, ensuring the tradition continues. Every Ndonnbasket carries this legacy — a blend of cultural history, community, and sustainable craft.
