The Keup basket takes its name from the Wolof word “keup,” meaning to cover firmly. Its distinctive flat-topped lid sits neatly on the basket, a design passed down through generations of Senegalese weavers. This traditional form combines practicality with heritage, making the Keup both a functional storage piece and a symbol of cultural craftsmanship.
