Blue with Turquoise Spot . Layu number 22 (55 cm)
Layu platter baskets are a much loved traditional form of a Senegalese basket used for sifting grains. Our Layus come in a small edit of beautiful aqua and earthy tones, reminiscent of coastal waters of Senegal. They can be used as platter baskets for holding tableware, fruits or just a beautiful centre piece on a table. We use ours as a design feature too - check out our edit on wall art, using a combination of our LAYU and FELE baskets.
Materials
Layu baskets are handwoven from reeds grown in the Gambia and intertwined with discarded plastic mats
Layus have a slight raised edge.
