White and Red Bogolan Cushion. The Spoutnik.

We love the deep rich colour of the Spoutnik cushion, made from the traditional methods of handcrafting Bogolan cloth but given a contemporary organic design. A stunning combination of trend and tradition. We couldn’t quite decide whether to describe it as rust red or burnt orange! Finished with a complimentary linen back and gold zip. 

About the fabric

Bògòlanfini (Bogolan/ Mud cloth) is a handmade Malian cotton fabric traditionally dyed with fermented mud. It’s made from hand weaving long strips of cotton and then stitched together to create a larger cloth. 

The fabric will have slight variations in colour and texture due to it being handmade and no two cushions will be 100% the same. We believe the beauty of it is in these slight imperfections which gives an organic feel to the design. This is truly a small batch production with very limited availability.
